The Graduate Certificate in healthcare informatics is designed for health information professionals and other healthcare professionals who want a new career as a healthcare informatics specialist. This program enhances the range of professional and technical skills and competencies of these professionals and explores more sophisticated medical informatics applications. Also, the program addresses the need of health professionals interested in exploring management of medical knowledge from an information science perspective. It provides an opportunity to discover new approaches to information management that have been made possible by current developments in information technology, networking and telecommunications.


The required five courses are:

MHI 505 Introduction to Healthcare Informatics


MHI 510 Principles of Information Technology


MHI 515 HIT Integration, Interoperability and Standards


MHA 530 Statistical Methods and Analysis


MHI 520 Healthcare Information Systems
