Meet some of our esteem adjunct faculty members.
Dr. Angappa Gunasekaran is a Professor and the Chairperson of the Department of Decision and Information sciences at the Charlton College of Business, University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth (USA). Dr. Gunasekaran has held academic positions at Brunel University (UK), Monash University (Australia), the University of Vaasa (Finland), the University of Madras (India) and the University of Toronto, Laval University, and Concordia University (Canada). He is teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in operations management and management science. Dr. Gunasekaran has received Thomas J. Higginson Award for Excellence in Teaching (2001-2002) within the Charlton College of Business. He has over 200 articles published in 40 different peer-reviewed journals that include Journal of Operations Management, Omega, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, International Journal of Production Research, Production and Inventory Management Journal, European Journal of Operational Research and Computers & Industrial engineering. He has presented about 50 papers and published about 50 articles in conferences and given a number of invited more talks in about 20 countries. He has received an Outstanding Paper Award from Managerial Auditing Journal for the year 2002. Dr. Gunasekaran is on the Editorial Board of over 20 journals which include journal of Operation Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Management Decision, International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management, International Journal of Systems Science, Technovation and Computers in Industry: An International Journal. Dr. Gunasekaran is involved with several national and international collaborative projects that are funded by both private and government agencies. He has organized several international workshops and conferences in the emerging areas of operations management and information systems. Dr. Gunasekaran edits several journals in operations management and information systems. He was a keynote/invited speaker at several international conferences and workshops. Dr. Gunasekaran has consulted companies and been a visiting professor at several universities around the globe. He is currently interested in researching benchmarking, agile manufacturing, management information systems, e-commerce (B2B), information technology/systems evaluation, performance measures and metrics in new economy, technology management, logistics, supply chain management and total quality management. He actively serves on several university committees. Dr. Purnendu Mandal is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Information Systems and Analysis at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. He is also the director of SAP-University Alliance Program at Lamar. Prior to that, he was a Professor in MIS, Lewis College of Business, Division of Management & Marketing, Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. In 1993-2000, he was a senior lecturer at the School of Engineering and Technology, Deakin University, in Australia. Professor Suneel Maheshwari
Dr. Suneel Maheshwari is as a Professor at the Division of Accountancy in Marshall University, USA. Prior to joining Marshall, he taught at Miami University, Ohio and Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fl. Dr. Maheshwari coauthored twelve text-books and two reference books. In the last four years Dr. Maheshwari has published over 20 articles in several refereed journals. His research interests include executive compensation, activity based costing, and interdisciplinary applications. Dr. Maheshwari completed his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in1998. In 1991, he received a Masters in Accountancy degree with a double major in taxation from Miami University, Ohio, USA. Dr. Maheshwari got his first Masters degree from University of Bombay in1987. Dr. Maheshwari worked as management consultant for a manufacturing company and as Financial Controller for Holiday Inn. Professor Bharatendra Rai
Dr.Bharatendra Rai is a Professor of Business Statistics in the Earle P. Charlton College of Business, University of Massachusetts –Dartmouth, USA . He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit. His two master's degrees include specializations in quality, reliability, and operations research from Indian Statistical Institute and another in statistics from Meerut University, India. He has vast experience in the area of applied statistics. This includes over seven years of consulting and training experience to various Indian industries such as automotive, cutting tool, electronics, food, pharmaceutical, software, chemical, defense, etc., in the areas of statistical process control, design of experiments, quality engineering, problem solving tools, six-sigma, and quality management systems. He also has extensive research and work experience of over five years at Ford Motor Company in the area of quality, reliability, and six-sigma. Dr. Rai's research interests include applications in multivariate diagnosis/pattern recognition and data mining, developing meta-models using computer experiments, prediction of unexpended warranty costs, and field performance studies from large warranty datasets. His research publications include journals such as IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Reliability Engineering and System Safety, Quality Engineering, International Journal of System Sciences, International Journal of Product Development, and Journal of System Science and System Engineering. He has presented his research work at professional meetings and conferences such as SAE World Conference, INFORMS Annual Meetings, Industrial Engineering Research Conference, ASQs Annual Quality Congress, Taguchi's Robust Engineering Symposium, and Canadian Reliability and Maintainability Symposium. He has also co-authored book chapters in the area of applied statistics. Dr. Rai has won awards for Excellence and exemplary teamwork at Ford Motor Company for his contributions in the area of applied statistics. He also received an Employee Recognition Award by FAIA for Ph.D. dissertation in support of Ford Motor Company. He is certified as ISO 9000 lead assessor from British Standards Institute, ISO 14000 lead- assessor from Marsden Environmental International, and Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society for Quality. Mohammad A.Subedar Mr. Mohammad A. Subedar has over 25 years of experience as a consultant and entrepreneur, and has worked on projects in engineering, transportation industry, and healthcare. His undergraduate degree is in Electrical/Electronics engineering. He has a master degree in health services administration and is currently pursuing a doctorate. Dr. Omprakash K. Gupta is a professor of management in the College of Business at Prairie View A&M University. He has previously worked at Purdue University, Ball State University, Washington State University, IIM Ahmedabad, CMC Ltd, and Nirma Institute of Management. His areas of interest are in management, operations research, operations management, business strategy, etc. Dr. Gupta has published over fifty research papers in several refereed journals such as Management Science, European J. of Operations Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of OR Society, etc. He is the editor-in-chief of Int. J. of Operations and Quantitative Management and AIMS International Journal of Management. He has been frequently invited to deliver speeches. Professor Pradip K. Ray
Pradip K. Ray, presently the Head and Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India, received his PhD (in 1991) and MTech (in 1981) degrees from IIT, Kharagpur, and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (in 1979) degree from Calcutta University, India. Dr Ray has over twenty seven years of diversified experience - eight years as Senior Industrial Engineer at General Electric Company of India in Calcutta, two years as Associate Professor at Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus, and seventeen years of teaching and research experience at IIT. He has published around ninety papers in international and national journals and conferences in the areas of productivity measurement and evaluation, quality engineering, TQM, operations research, ergonomics, and other related topics. His areas of interest and research include productivity modeling, quality engineering, ergonomics, and JIT-based operations management. Dr Ray is a certified Lead Assessor for ISO9000 registration, a Fellow of World Academy of Productivity Sciences, and actively involved in a number of research projects and industrial consulting in his interest areas. He is a member of several professional bodies such as INFORMS and IIMM.
Veerendra K Jaitly
Veerendra K Jaitly holds B.Tech(Honors) and M.Tech degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He worked extensively in the area of Web Marketing for his MBA project. He worked 22 years for the Indian Navy in computerization and Networking, multi-media technology and production of training modules. After early retirement from the Indian Navy, he joined Jaypee University of Information Technology as the Founding Dean. He joined Cisco in 2003 as a Govt and Defence Consultant–India and was responsible for creating awareness about SWANs and Defence Communication Networks in India and SAARC region. In 2006 he joined STG International Ltd and as President he turned around the organization in a short span of one year, re-organized it into four verticals and infused a fresh doze of enthusiasm, energy and action. Jaitly has been also actively involved with the setting up of Customer Value Foundation, India and has been instrumental in spreading the message that Customer holds the key to success for any business. He is a mentor, advisor and director for a startup www.papam.in. Jaitly published a number of articles and delivered lectures/ presentations at national and international forums like CII, ASSOCHAM, AMCHAM, C-DAC, Common Wealth countries Forum for e-Gov, CSI, Cyber Media, Technical/ Management institutes including IITs.
Asif Kidwai He is also currently serving on the board of advisory for curriculum at ITT Tech Institute. He has taught several courses in the IT arena at ITT tech and is also teaching at Purdue University as an Adjunct faculty member. Further to his credentials has taught at Indiana Business College, Henderson Community College and The University of Phoenix (online). He has extensive work experience in IT field related to health informatics, Clinical trials, financial sector and has been involved in development of comprehensive government projects. In addition, he is serving as CIO with a healthcare company. He has vast experience of providing guidance and infrastructure for start-up companies. Moreover he is Co-Author of Millennium Management.
